It appears that the love story we just witnessed has spread all throughout England. Rumor has it that the tale of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy will be turned into a novel in the next year.
Novelist Jane Austen will weave the tale into a novel to be titled Pride and Prejudice. Austen cites the fact that the story resonates with her and reminds her of the society she grew up in as the reason for wanting to publish this novel. Austen was born in Steventon, England in 1775, and became an author in her teens. “I used to write behind a door that squeaked when it was opened, so anytime someone was coming I could hear the squeaks and quickly stash my manuscripts. The social structure is so rigid, there is such strong class consciousness, and social mobility is so limited I was worried about being a woman breaking into a mans field.” Austen seems ready to break out of the mold and enter the field as a woman, as she recently published Sense and Sensibility. We look forward to reading the new novel and reliving the love story that captured our attention over the last year!
